As part of our yearly legislation tracking program, The Rhode Island Self-Defense Alliance rates certain bills that either harm or help gun rights in the Ocean State. In 2016, Rhode Island ranked an abysmal 42nd on Guns & Ammo Ranking for Best States For Gun Owners.  

For years, the RI General Assembly has passed bills that have hurt Rhode Island gun owners’ rights. Bills receive a (-3) to (+3) rating based on the degree and impact to which they affect our liberties. Bills that we are monitoring appear below.
